We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Sohonet ID, our brand-new identity management service designed to simplify and enhance your login experience across all Sohonet products. In Q2, Sohonet ID will launch as the first step to offering what will become a single sign-on (SSO) for all Sohonet products, starting with ClearView Flex and followed by our entire suite of products, all managed by a single Identity Provider (IDP). This marks a significant step in our commitment to providing a cohesive and efficient user experience while paving the way to support our customers who mandate an enterprise SSO experience managed by their corporate IDP, like Okta or Active Directory.

What is Sohonet ID?

Sohonet ID is our solution to streamline access to Sohonet’s diverse range of products. With Sohonet ID, you can log in once and gain instant access to all your Sohonet applications without the hassle of multiple logins. This unified approach saves time, enhances security, and simplifies user management.

Key Benefits of Sohonet ID

1. Single Sign-On (SSO): With Sohonet ID, a single login grants access to all Sohonet products. This eliminates the need to remember multiple usernames and passwords, making daily operations more efficient.

2. Enhanced Security: Managing a single identity across all Sohonet products reduces the risk of password fatigue and potential security breaches. Sohonet ID ensures that your credentials are stored securely and privately.

3. Centralized Management: A single IDP manages all user identities, providing a unified interface for user management and reducing administrative overhead.

4. Enterprise support: In Q3, we plan to enhance Sohonet ID's communication with common enterprise authentication IDPs like Okta, Active Directory, and Google.  This is commonly called SAML login or enterprise SSO.

How does this impact me?

Beginning in June, all authenticated ClearView Flex users (Presenters and Admins) will have their Flex log-ins migrated to Sohonet ID. While the user experience will change slightly, there will be no need to update passwords or make other changes.

Note: If your IT admin currently whitelists specific domains on firewall - see below

If your IT admin currently whitelists specific domains on your firewall, they will need to add an additional CVF dependency domain: cdn.auth0.com. Failure to do so will not prevent presenters from logging in, but it will cause user interface issues until the domain is reachable. This issue affects presenters only and does not impact attendees. The firewall change is only necessary if you have strict domain rules on your application firewall.

Over the coming quarters, users of other Sohonet products will receive notice as additional products adopt this new log-in method. If the user already has a Sohonet ID from Flex, this will replace their log-in in other products; if not, their log-in for the other product will become a Sohonet ID.

Finally, with the launch of SAML support in Sohonet ID, Enterprise customers will be able to federate their IDP and enable their users (users with emails in a domain they manage) to use their corporate login to access all Sohonet Products.  This will be a customer-by-customer transition that will be managed by Sohonet and your corporate identity and security teams.

Thank you for being a valued part of the Sohonet community. We look forward to continuing to serve you with innovative solutions that make your work easier and more secure.

Sincerely,

The Sohonet Team
