The Best of the 2025 Oscars

The 97th Academy Awards were an unforgettable night, and we at Sohonet couldn’t be prouder of our customers and collaborators who continue to push the boundaries of storytelling.

Anora was the night’s biggest winner, earning five Oscars, including Best Picture. Mikey Madison took home Best Actress, while Sean Baker made history by winning four awards: Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing, and Best Picture.

Adrien Brody claimed Best Actor for The Brutalist, Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain, and Zoe Saldaña became the first American of Dominican descent to win an Oscar, earning Best Supporting Actress for Emilia Pérez

It was also a huge night for international cinema. Flow won Best Animated Feature, making history as Latvia’s first Oscar-winning film. No Other Land took home Best Documentary, and I'm Still Here made history as Brazil’s first Oscar-winning film.

The technical brilliance behind these films was celebrated, too. The Brutalist won Best Cinematography and Best Original Score, Dune: Part Two won Best Sound and Best Visual Effects, and Emilia Pérez took home Best Original Song.

The night was filled with unforgettable moments, from performances by Doja Cat, Lisa of Blackpink, and Raye to heartfelt tributes honoring legends like Quincy Jones and Gene Hackman. The ceremony also paid tribute to the victims of the devastating LA wildfires, recognizing the impact on both the community and the film industry.
