The Role

As a Senior Technical Project Manager in the Operations group, you will oversee multiple technical projects across business departments. Your primary responsibilities include managing internal and customer-facing projects from concept to delivery and driving continuous service improvements. This role requires a blend of project management, operational analysis, business systems expertise, and data analysis skills. You must be comfortable working with small delivery teams and taking ownership of key tasks. This includes writing requirements, collaborating with teams to quickly learn and document their systems and processes, creating project Gantt charts, leading workshops to resolve process issues, preparing project status reports, developing financial tracking sheets, and defining project success criteria.

Responsibilities
    {$}Manage projects within agreed tolerances for benefits, cost, scope, timescales, quality, and risk, following project management methodology principles. {$}Take ownership of hands-on tasks, including writing requirements, creating Gantt charts, leading workshops, creating workflow diagrams, statements of work, preparing reports, user guides, and defining success criteria. {$}Own project budgets, effectively managing costs and conducting financial tracking and reporting. {$}Analyze and resolve operational issues by evaluating problems, engaging stakeholders, and developing solutions. {$}Prepare reports, presentations, and visual documentation to summarize and communicate findings to diverse audiences. {$}Work hands-on with IT systems (e.g., Salesforce) to drive solution designs and system improvements aligned with business needs. {$}Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance, engineering) and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers) to deliver projects and operational initiatives. A Typical Week May Involve: {$}Writing a Statement of Work for a customer project based on a bespoke set of requirements we’ve been asked to bid on. {$}Working with Operational teams to understand and document a process issue, collaborating with engineering teams and stakeholders to develop a resolution plan, and seeing it through to completion. {$}Writing requirements for a new tool a department wants to implement, eliciting these through workshops and an analysis of the current state and issues driving the change. {$}Creating a project Gantt chart by breaking down work with engineering teams for a customer project, then managing progress through registers and project meetings. {$}Preparing a slide deck for a customer kick-off meeting, then leading the meeting to go over project scope, objectives, timeline, and next steps. {$}Driving project resources across multiple teams, ensuring accountability for deliverables and timelines. {$}Producing internal and external project status reports to keep stakeholders informed.{$}-Pricing a customer project by breaking down work, working on estimates with delivery teams, obtaining supplier/contractor costs, and consolidating details for internal stakeholder review and sign-off.
Requirements
    {$}Education: BA/BS in an analytical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline. {$}Experience: Extensive background in project management, IT operations, and business analysis, with a strong track record of successful project delivery. {$}Certifications: PRINCE2 Practitioner or a similar project management certification. {$}Technical Skills: Proficiency with tools such as Excel/Google Sheets, Microsoft Project, JIRA, and diagramming software (e.g., MS Visio, LucidChart). {$}IT Systems: Experience with platforms like Salesforce is highly desirable.
